DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. April 17, 2008; Kathy Barks Hoffman writing for the AP reported that workers at a key General Motors Corp. assembly plant near Lansing have walked off their jobs in a local contract dispute.
United Auto Workers members streamed from the plant that makes hot-selling crossover vehicles just after a deadline passed at 10 a.m. Thursday.
As they were leaving, some workers said they were on strike.
The factory makes the Buick Enclave, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia crossover vehicles which are selling well for GM.
