SPECIAL 4-RACE POINT FUND ANNOUNCED

FOR "MIDGET MAYNIA TOUR" IN MAY

A special $5,000 point fund has been announced by race organizer Dan Thiel and STM Promotions, benefiting participants in the upcoming Midget Maynia Tour in late-May, involving four race tracks in Wisconsin and Illinois.

The May 16 "Battle in the Bluffs" at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisc. kicks off the four-race slate, followed by the May 17 "2nd Annual Kubota Stan Fox Classic" at Slinger (Wisc.) Speedway and the May 18 race at the Rockford (Ill.) Speedway. The 7th "Mid-State Equipment Sue Thiel Memorial" serves as the finale on Friday night, May 30 at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, Wisc.

The four events, all part of USAC's 2008 Mopar National Midget Championship season, include the first USAC race at Slinger in 19 years and the first at Rockford in 29 years! The Beaver Dam event is co-sanctioned with the Badger Midget Series and Arizona's Jerry Coons Jr. will be trying for a third straight victory in the event.

Support series have been announced for all four events. The Mid American Stock Car Series will compete at LaCrosse. The Illini Midget Racing Series and Formula Indy will compete at Slinger and Rockford. The traditional open competition modified race will again return to the Dodge County Fairgrounds event.

The midget car owner earning the most points will receive a $1,000 bonus with the remainder of the point fund distributed to cars competing in all four events. Lap sponsorships are available for the May 30 race and can be reserved by contacting Thiel at (920)-319-0177.
