LAS VEGAS (April 13) – It was a frustrating first round loss for J.R. Todd and his Torco/Lucas Oil dragster group in the ninth annual Summitracing.com Nationals on the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

After qualifying in the No. 12 spot with his time of 4.775 ET, 280.66 mph, Todd’s race run against opponent, Cory McClenathan produced a time of 5.036 seconds, 224.73 mph when his Top Fuel ride suddenly dropped cylinders on the quarter-mile slowing his effort.

In the NHRA POWERade Top Fuel points standing, J.R. Todd is in the No. 13 position with 140 points.

The next NHRA National event will be the Summit Racing Southern Nationals at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga., on April 25 – 27.
