Young Engineers Compete with Futuristic, Eco-Friendly Vehicles to Achieve the Highest Mileage Using the Least Amount of Fuel
Students from Canada, Mexico and the United States Compete in 2008 Shell Eco-marathon(TM) Americas WHAT: Student engineers from across Canada, Mexico and the United States will compete for the title of the most fuel-efficient vehicle during the 2008 Shell Eco-marathon Americas. Student teams will make history by competing in high-mileage, eco- friendly prototype vehicles fueled by gasoline, hydrogen, diesel fuel, liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or solar power. The team with the vehicle that travels the farthest distance using the least amount of fuel wins US$10,000 for their school.
