West Lebanon, NY: The 56th Season Grand Opening Night is just around the corner which only means that it’s time to blow the dust off and get in some practice.
The Valley of Speed will open its doors for the first time this Saturday April 12th for a warm up session set to get started at 3:00pm till around 6:00pm. The gates are scheduled to open at 2:00pm. A scheduled rainout date is pencil in for Tuesday April 15, 2008.
“We got a new surface (new clay) for the speedway this year for even better racing than last year” said track manager Lyle DeVore. “We did some updating on the safety side of things by replacing large sections of the outside safety barriers and added some fresh paint to just about everything.” DeVore added.
There is so much to look forward to this year at Howard Commander’s High Banks with a chuck-full schedule that has events and special shows that appeal to everyone.
“Our plan this year was to offer the best bang for the buck. Everyone’s feeling the pinch as of late, and we wanted to make sure that we offered the best show we possible can for just $10. More importantly, we made sure that the kids’ price is still just $2.00.” explained DeVore. Add that to the already reasonable prices for food and beverages, and Lebanon Valley Speedway has some fantastic racing entertainment that won’t break the bank!
This Saturday (or Tuesday if it rains) come out for free and sit in the stands to watch your local racing hero wheel around the legendary Valley of Speed. Or come out for the first time and check out what a great value it is to come to Lebanon Valley Speedway.
Come out and watch the 2007 Big Block Champ J.R. Heffner try and defend his title from the legendary Kenny Tremont Jr, Eddie Marshall, Guy Sheldon, along with the return of Lorne Browe and Rich Salisbury to the Big Block Modified ranks.
