Seton Company Supplies Luxury Leather to Volkswagen for the All New Routan Minivan
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 9 -- Seton Company -- a leading global supplier of high-quality leather for automotive interiors -- announced today that it was selected by Chrysler LLC, in cooperation with Volkswagen, to supply the new seven-passenger Routan minivan with its affordable, luxury Nappa leather.
"We were pleased to work closely with both Chrysler and Volkswagen to develop the customized, high-quality leather that complements the Routan's design," said Rodney Hammond, vice president and general manager of the Americas and Asia for Seton. "Seton's Nappa leather combines ruggedness and durability to fit the active lifestyle of minivan owners, yet has the suppleness of European elegance."
The 2009 Routan, which was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, will offer Seton's Nappa leather in two colors: cream and medium slate gray. The new minivan was developed under an agreement, whereby Chrysler will manufacture the minivans for Volkswagen. Seton previously worked with Chrysler to develop the high-quality leather, which was first introduced on the 2008 Chrysler 300C Heritage Edition.
This is the first Volkswagen vehicle Seton has supplied in North America. In addition to the Routan, Seton supplies leather for a number of other Volkswagen Group vehicles.
