GAS CITY "DOUBLE" & WINCHESTER NEXT FOR SPRINTS;

RAIN FORCES ELDORA POSTPONEMENT

            The USAC National Sprint Car Series will open April 18-20 with three back-to-back events in Indiana following Saturday's postponement at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio due to heavy rain and wet grounds.

            The Eldora race has been rescheduled for Saturday night, May 10 and will be named the "Don Branson/Jud Larson Pole Night Sprints," continuing the tradition of honoring two of USAC most accomplished Sprint car drivers of all time.

            The April 18-20 weekend opens with Friday and Saturday night races at the Gas City I-69 Speedway and closes with Sunday's "Rich Vogler Classic" at the Winchester (Ind.) Speedway.

            "The ground was absolutely saturated" commented disheartened Eldora General Manager Larry Kemp. "We all remember what we went through last spring and none of us wanted to do that again. Additionally, in view of the high fuel costs for the fans and teams, we wanted to announce the postponement early."
