The main fundraiser is Plexus Systems' first annual charity golf tournament on May 19 at the Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids. Sponsorship funding and golfer entry fees will go toward the charity, and Plexus Systems will match the funds raised at the tournament. A raffle also will help raise donations.

"Our employees selected this charity, because they are aware of the great need to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. Some of our fellow employees are caring for children affected by this disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has assists these families. We are grateful for these services and our company wants to give back with full support," said Mark Symonds, chief executive officer of Plexus Systems, Inc.

Representatives from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be at PowerPlex 2008 to inform more than 200 attendees about research, therapy and services provided to people affected by the disease.

"Because we receive no federal funding, we depend on the generosity of corporations. We remain committed to enhancing the lives of those with cystic fibrosis and ultimately to finding a cure," said Pam Ogg, executive director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Metro Detroit-Northwest Ohio Chapter.
