GM Communications Announces Leadership Moves
DETROIT NMarch 31, 2008; Steve Harris, GM vice president, global communications, announced today a series of leadership moves, effective April 1, 2008.
Tony Cervone, 45, currently GMNA vice president, communications, has been named communications vice president, global strategy and integration. In his new role, Tony will oversee communications teams for GM’s four global regions. He will also lead product and brand communications, financial communications, executive communications, and a number of other internal and external communications teams.
Tom Pyden, 52,currently executive director, corporate communications, will replace Tony as GMNA vice president, communications. In Tom’s new role, he will lead communications for GM North America, including vehicle sales, service and marketing.
Katie Maple McBride,46, director, global internal and manufacturing/labor communications, has been named executive director, global internal and executive communications. Her responsibilities will include global internal, executive, labor and manufacturing communications, along with policy and Washington communications.
“These appointments will further strengthen our communications team and align it to better serve our internal and external audiences," said Harris. “In their new positions, these experienced GM communications leaders will play key roles in building our business in North America and around the globe.”
