Skoda Auto has already produced two million Octavias

MLADA BOLESLAV, CZECH REPUBLIC - Skoda Auto has produced its two-millionth Skoda Octavia in Vrchlabí. The milestone-marking vehicle is a silver Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI, i.e. the leisure-time version of currently best-selling Skoda model.

Škoda Auto has been producing the contemporary Octavia since 1996 (the very first generation of Škoda Octavia was produced in the nineteen-sixties). In 2004, the initially launched model was extended by a new-generation one. As the older model is extremely popular with customers, the Company keeps producing it under the Octavia Tour mark.

The production of Škoda Octavia Tour is located in Vrchlabí with assembly points in Škoda's plants in India, Russia, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine and Bosnia. The production of Škoda Octavia located in Mladá Boleslav with assembly points in India, Russia, the Ukraine and Bosnia. Since 2007, the vehicle has been manufactured in China under a licence production arrangement. The Škoda Octavia is called Laura in India and Ming Rui in China.

Both models are available as a 4x4, the Octavia is also available as a sports version (RS) and as well as the Octavia Scout.

Altogether the Company has produced 1,315,000 first-generation Octavias and 685,000 second-generation Octavias since the market launch several years ago.

Škoda Auto delivered 72,529 Octavia Tour vehicles and 237,422 Škoda Octavias in 2007.
