FIRST ROUND LOSS FOR LUCAS

Morgan Lucas didn’t fare as well as he would had hoped at the Checker Schuck’s Kragen Nationals with a first round loss against Larry Dixon.

Lucas, who had qualified in the No. 9 position with an elapsed time of 4.566 seconds, 326.00 mph, jumped Dixon on the starting line with a better reaction time (.064 - .076), but suddenly lost traction and coasted to the finish line with his time of 8.324 seconds, 87.45 mph to Dixon’s pass of 4.610 seconds, 277.43 mph.

The POWERade Top Fuel standings now find Lucas in the No. 7 position with a total summation of 107 points.
