David Ragan • Competed in his first race at California in the spring last year and earned a 16th-place finish. • Ragan finished 12th in September’s California event. • Ragan finished a close second in the 2007 NEXTEL Cup Rookie of the Year race to Juan Pablo Montoya. • Ragan has also competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at California Speedway three times. His best finish was 10th in the September 2007 event.

Jamie McMurray • Statistically speaking, California Speedway is Jamie McMurray’s best track on the Sprint Cup circuit. • In nine career Sprint Cup starts at the two-mile speedway, McMurray has five top-10 finishes, including three top-five finishes. • McMurray has a career starting position average of 27.1 and an average finishing position of 12.8 at California Speedway. • McMurray will pilot the No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion for the first time this season. This will be McMurray’s first time in 2008 back in his Crown Royal purple and gold paint scheme. • The No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion will run a special decal on the rear quarter panel this weekend in support of “Dress for Success,” which is a program to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a support network and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Carl Edwards • Will make his eighth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at California Speedway this weekend in the Auto Club 500. In his previous Cup starts, Edwards boasts one pole, five top-five and six top-10 finishes. • Despite the impressive record, Edwards’ best finish at Fontana is second place – captured in September of 2007. • In other series… Edwards has one NASCAR Nationwide Series win at California and has won the pole at California in all three of NASCAR’s elite series. In just 16 total starts at Fontana, Edwards has achieved one win, three poles, nine top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. • NEW COLORS…Carl Edwards and the No. 99 team will sport the colors of Dish Network this weekend at Fontana. • The No. 99 Dish Network team will be unloading chassis No. RK-540, this a brand new car that Edwards posted some of the fastest lap times in earlier this month during Sprint Cup testing at Fontana. • Looking for a Winning Proposal? Greg Biffle • In addition to Biffle’s Cup win at California in 2005, he also has three Nationwide Series wins at the two-mile oval. • Biffle finished 10th in this year’s season opener at Daytona and currently sits 10th in the point standings, 51 points out of the lead. • This season Biffle will be running three different primary paint schemes with 3M, Dish Network and Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. • This weekend Biffle will run the multi-colored paint scheme of his Minnesota-based primary sponsor, 3M.

Matt Kenseth • Kenseth, attempting to win the Auto Club 500 for a third-straight year, is the all-time leader in NASCAR wins at California speedway, posting six wins total; four in the Nationwide Series and two in the Sprint Cup Series. • KING OF ROUND TWO: Since 2002, Kenseth has recorded four wins and six top-six finishes in the second race of the season: first at Rockingham ’02, third at Rockingham ‘03, first at Rockingham in ‘04, sixth at Fontana in ’05, and first at Fontana ’06 & ’07. • Kenseth swept the February race weekend in 2007 at the California Speedway by winning the Nationwide and Cup races. Kenseth has now won the past two February Cup races at the Fontana, Calif. two-mile oval. • In his career, Kenseth has led eight of his 12 Cup races at Fontana for a total of 379 laps, second most all time. • Since entering the Cup Series in 2000, Kenseth’s average finish at the two, two-mile tracks, (California and Michigan) is 10.2; tops among all drivers that have competed in all 29 Cup races at those tracks during that span. • Kenseth will run the Carhartt paint scheme on Sunday for the first of four times this season. He won this event last year in the Carhartt scheme, marking the first time Kenseth had won a Cup event in a paint scheme other than DEWALT. The other three Carhartt races in ‘08 are Michigan in June, Loudon in Sept., and Charlotte in Oct. • Last year’s win in the Auto Club 500 marked the first career win for Chip Bolin as crew chief of the No. 17 team.
