Detroit Electric Appoints Former CEO of Lotus Engineering to Top Job for Electric Car Brand

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 19, 2008 -- Detroit Electric today announces the appointment of Mr. Albert Lam, former CEO of Lotus Engineering, as the Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Lam recently accepted the job as the Chairman of the company, but this latest appointment will enable him to focus full time on managing and growing the company.

"I'm excited to be given this opportunity to devote all my time, experience and energy to fulfill the great promise of Detroit Electric," said Mr. Lam. "I was instrumental during the planning and formulation stage of the company and now we have a solid 5-year business plan and 10-year vehicle product plan. Detroit Electric is well positioned to move to the implementation phase. With my extensive connections in the industry, I will be able to assemble the best team to execute our plans."

A British National, Albert Lam is a veteran automotive and technology executive who moved from his position as CEO of Lotus Engineering to pursue new business opportunities with Detroit Electric.

Mr. Lam served as the CEO of Lotus Engineering, from 2003 to late 2007, as well as Executive Director for Lotus Group International between 2003 and 2006. He managed close to a thousand automotive engineers and technologists from countries around the world. Mr. Lam has 20 years of relevant industrial experience served with companies like Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford and others in Europe. His worldwide experience spans across Automotive, Consultancy, and Information Technology, with more than 13 years at senior management and leadership positions, including Managing Director for Apple Computer Asia, where he oversaw all marketing, distribution, sales and services operations within the Asian region. Mr. Lam has experience with start-up companies and a track record in growing and expanding businesses. He served four years as the Regional Director for Sun Professional Services, a division within Sun Microsystems, growing the business from the start to a multi-million dollar, multi-national business, employing over 200 people. Mr. Lam attended Coventry University in the UK where he earned a Masters of Science degree in robotics and manufacturing, and registered for a PhD program in Complex Knowledge Systems.
