Coca-Cola Recycling LLC Revs UpRecycling Efforts at the Daytona 500
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--NASCAR fans will have the opportunity to recycle this weekend at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ Daytona 500, with support from Coca-Cola Recycling.
Coca-Cola Recycling will debut its new 24-foot interactive trailer, designed to educate fans on the benefits of recycling, and encourage them to drop their plastic bottles and aluminum cans in designated bins as they head into the track. The trailer will feature interactive media, including new public service announcements from members of the Coca-Cola Racing Family, such as: Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Dale Jarrett, Greg Biffle and Kyle Petty. Fans who visit the Coca-Cola Recycling trailer will be eligible to win prizes, and for every bottle and can recycled, a donation will be made by Coca-Cola to The NASCAR Foundation, which supports a wide variety of charities that support the core values of the entire NASCAR family.
“We are excited to join forces with NASCAR to promote recycling at this year’s Daytona 500,” said John Burgess, president and chief executive officer, Coca-Cola Recycling. “After enjoying one of our beverages, we would like for our packaging to be seen as a valuable resource for future use. By reclaiming bottles and cans, we can divert them from area landfills and keep our communities clean and sustainable.”
“It is essential that we all do our part for the environment and Coca-Cola’s recycling program is one easy step," said Marcus Jadotte, managing director of public affairs, NASCAR. "NASCAR fans are passionate about the sport and the world we live in, and we encourage them to take full advantage of this opportunity to recycle.”
