TEAM REPORTS (PHOENIX, AZ.) - New Cars, New Shop, New Team Owner and Excellent Test Results Set Stage
NASCAR Nationwide series driver Kertus Davis is optimistic about Saturday’s first race of the 2008 season. “We’re putting a brand new Chevrolet Monte Carlo “0” car on the track that has performed exceptionally well for me during testing”, comments Davis. The team will also field a Chevrolet car “01”, to be driven by Dewayne Leik. Davis’ car will showcase sponsors Race Girl and Americano Beach Resort.
JD Motorsports team owner Lori Morgan has been instrumental in acquiring equipment including two new chassis, a car hauler and a new shop. Morgan notes, “Davis had impressive runs and fast laps during testing at Daytona recently and we’re excited to put him in a car that allows him to maximize his driving skills”. Davis recently returned from Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Arizona where he has been honing his road racing and driving skills.
Davis and the JD Motorsports team have been working with one of the highest government offices in the nation along with Military Order of the Purple Heart to identify men and women around the country who will be honored by team JD Motorsports at each race during the 2008 Nationwide series. Saturday, Davis will honor Stephen Pyle.
He will be named an honorary crew member for the day. “Kertus is just as excited about honoring Stephen as he is about racing Daytona. It thrills him to say thank you to those who deserve it and he loves to share the thunder and excitement of what he does all year long with people who have never experienced NASCAR from the inside”, said Johnny Davis, team General Manager and father of Kertus.
