Shapiro lives in Detroit and Washington, D.C. with his wife, Dr. Susan Malinowski. He was recently recognized as one of the 100 most influential individuals by Washington Life, and as one of the top 50 business lobbyists by The Hill newspaper. |

Shapiro's address, titled "Technological Status Quo: The Oxymoron of Our Times," will focus on how digital innovation is defining all industries, including the automotive sector. To illustrate that point, Shapiro will release new research quantifying the economic impact consumer electronics have on U.S. employment and the overall economy. |

He will also outline a roadmap for success that calls on Detroit businesses to embrace innovation, free trade and open standards for in-vehicle electronics. |
