Sun-Times News Group Launches SearchChicago-Autos
CHICAGO--With the opening of the Chicago Auto Show, the Sun-Times News Group announced today the launch of SearchChicago-Autos every Thursday throughout the group’s 58 paid-circulation newspaper titles, complementing its successful and growing online counterpart, www.SearchChicago.com/autos.
SearchChicago-Autos, which will have a paid circulation of more than 750,000, will replace existing auto sections. The new section will feature respected local auto columnists Jill Ciminillo, Ira Siegel, John Stein and Jeff Taylor, an auto Q&A and a check of some of the cheapest gas prices in the Chicago area. The Sun-Times News Group is also launching a weekly electronic newsletter that will recap the week’s local auto news.
“Our new print SearchChicago-Autos will provide the most comprehensive auto coverage in the region and link to our Web site with more new and used car and truck listings than any other service,” said Cyrus F. Freidheim, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Sun-Times Media Group, parent of the Sun-Times News Group. “Not only are SearchChicago-Autos and SearchChicago.com/autos great ways for consumers to search hundreds of local dealers in the Chicago region for a new car, but they are great ways for manufacturers and dealers to reach the Sun-Times News Group’s 4.2 million print and online readers each week.”
The Sun-Times News Group’s newspapers include the Chicago Sun-Times; The Beacon News (Aurora), The Herald News (Joliet), Lake County News-Sun, The Courier News (Elgin), SouthtownStar, The Naperville Sun, and 51 Pioneer Press titles.
Beginning today at the Chicago Auto Show, the largest auto show in North America, SearchChicago-Autos will offer attendees the chance to win $50,000 in its “Drive Away With $50K” sweepstakes at numerous sites throughout the show.
