Hefty Brand Returns as Primary Sponsor for McClure Hefty Brand is making its fourth appearance as primary sponsor of a Sprint Cup team with driver Eric McClure, but its first on the No. 37 Front Row Motorsports Chevrolet Impala SS. Hefty Brand begins its third season with Eric McClure, while their first appearance in the Sprint Cup Series came during the UAW- Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2006.

Third Time’s A Charm? 29-year-old Eric McClure hopes to be the “Cinderella Story” of Speedweeks as he makes his third attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500. McClure’s first attempt dates back to February 2005 with Raabe Racing.

McClure is not locked in the valued “top 35” in 2007 Sprint Cup Owners’ Points, and must qualify his No. 37 Hefty® brand Chevrolet Impala SS for the “Great American Race” by posting one of the three fastest times during Sunday’s qualifying session amongst those not guaranteed a starting spot, or by transferring via the Gatorade Duals.

The Emory and Henry College Graduate will be attempting to qualify for his fourth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event. McClure has a career best start of 27th (Talladega- October 2006) and a best finish of 26th (Talladega- April 2004).

The No. 37 will be fielded by Front Row Motorsports (FRM), located in Denver, NC. Calling the shots for driver Eric McClure will be veteran crew chief Scott Eggleston.

Daytona 500 Preparation: Front Row Motorsports (FRM) and driver Eric McClure participated in the second of two 3-day practice sessions at Daytona International Speedway posting the 28th fastest single car time out of 56 cars (49.228 seconds).

Up to Speed: The Daytona 500 will be televised by FOX with coverage beginning at 2:00pm (EST) on Sunday, February 17, 2008. MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio will also broadcast the event live.

Personal Appearances: Eric McClure will be making several appearances during the 2008 Speedweeks. Please check http://www.ericmcclure.com for details.

Eric McClure, driver of the No. 37 Hefty brand Chevrolet Impala SS quotes:

On being with a new team and attempting the Daytona 500 for the third time?

“I’m excited to be with FRM in 2008. It’s a big deal to attempt the race, especially for our partners. It’s a lot of fun for us. There are a couple of ways to get in, it’s pretty democratic, but in reality anything could happen. We would love to make the 50th running of the 500, but there is no pressure on us. As long as I have a sponsor that wants to go to Daytona, we’ll keep trying. It’s the biggest event in the world to me and we are going to enjoy the experience.”
