CUP CAMRYS, VERSION 2.0: The Toyota Camry returns for its second year of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) competition in 2008. Last year, Camrys earned two poles, two top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in the NSCS.
Toyota will utilize NASCAR's new chassis (‘Car of Tomorrow’) in all 36 races this season, after splitting time between the current car and the older version a year ago.

CAMRY CONTINGENT: Five teams will campaign 11 Camrys full-time during the 2008 NSCS season. Three teams and seven drivers return to NSCS competition in Camrys, including Dave Blaney (No. 22 Caterpillar Camry) and Jacques Villeneuve (No. 27 Toyota Camry) at Bill Davis Racing, along with Brian Vickers (No. 83 Red Bull Camry) and AJ Allmendinger (No. 84 Red Bull Camry) at the Red Bull Racing Team. Michael Waltrip Racing will field Camrys for Dale Jarrett (No. 44 UPS Camry), David Reutimann (No. 00 Aaron's Camry) and Michael Waltrip (No. 55 NAPA Camry).

TOYOTA’S NEW TEAMS: Last Fall, Toyota welcomed Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and Hall of Fame Racing (HOFR) to the Camry roster for 2008. JGR will field three Toyotas for Kyle Busch (No. 18 M&M's Camry), Denny Hamlin (No. 11 FedEx Camry) and two-time series champion Tony Stewart (No. 20 Home Depot Camry). J.J. Yeley will pilot the No. 96 DLP HDTV Camry for HOFR.

OPTOMISTIC OUTLOOK: “I think we’re going into 2008 with the confidence that we will get to victory lane in the Sprint Cup Series,” says Jim Aust, vice president -- motorsports, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and CEO, TRD, U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development). “Hopefully, it’s going to come at Daytona. If you look at our returning drivers, and the addition of four very good ones, these are definitely drivers that want to win. I think that all of them would tell you they want to be the driver and the team to bring Toyota their first Cup win. ”

50th AND 50th: This week, Toyota returns to Daytona International Speedway (DIS) in preparation for the 50th running of the Daytona 500 (Feb. 17). Toyota also reached a 50th milestone recently. Last October, Toyota celebrated its 50th year of doing business in the United States.
