SEAL BEACH, Calif.--Clean Energy Fuels Corp. , North Americas leader in clean transportation, has been awarded a contract valued at $3.6 million by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), to design, build and operate the new clean-burning, compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station at the Authoritys Irvine, California maintenance facility.

We are pleased to begin working with OCTA for its contracted fixed route CNG vehicles, which serve part of the transit needs for the Orange County region surrounding our headquarters in Seal Beach, California, said Andrew J. Littlefair, Clean Energy President and CEO. This contract extends on our fueling and service relationships with many major transit agencies throughout Southern California.

Initially, the new station will fuel OCTAs fleet of 63 contracted fixed route CNG buses with an estimated 500,000 gallons of natural gas annually. The Authority plans to grow the CNG bus fleet.
