AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 4 -- Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. today launched its new corporate Web site, which will serve as the central location for information about Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. and the global Volkswagen Group, which is the fourth largest automaker in the world.
"We have set bold new goals for success in the U.S., and this site is a great vehicle to introduce our Company to new audiences in a fresh, exciting way," said Stefan Jacoby, President and Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Group of America. "Our new Web site will be a key tool for our Company as we increase dialogue with our U.S. customers and sharpen our focus on this key market."
On January 1, Volkswagen of America, Inc. changed its name to Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. The name change reinforces the company's goal to streamline its U.S. operations and reflects the Company's five distinct brands: Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Volkswagen, as well as the related financial services functions VW Credit, Inc. The new corporate site features links to the brand sites, and highlights corporate citizenship activities, industry news and recruiting efforts, as well as information on the history of the Volkswagen Group companies in the United States and goals for the future.
Volkswagen Group of America is in the process of moving its U.S. corporate headquarters from Auburn Hills, Mich., to Herndon, Va., scheduled to begin in April 2008. Under Jacoby's direction, the Company is implementing a new strategy that will bring the Company closer to customers, increasing competitiveness and achieving sharper focus on key markets.
