Subaru Reports January 2008 Sales

-Legacy sales up 17 percent; Impreza sales up 15 percent-
-Retail sales above same period in 2007-
CHERRY HILL, N.J., Feb. 1 -- Subaru of America, Inc. today reported January sales of 11,289 total units. With retail sales higher than January 2007, both the Legacy and Impreza model lines recorded gains over the same period last year, with Impreza posting record January sales.

Although retail sales grew in January, total sales were 6.5% down from the same period in 2007 (12,074). This was due to a reduction in fleet deliveries. Deliveries to fleets are anticipated to grow over the year.
