Jon Wood and the Wood Brothers Racing team have completed the year's second round of Craftsman Truck Series Pre Season Thunder tests in the #21 Ford F-150 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

In the first session on Tuesday, the No. 21 truck piloted by Jon Wood was the fastest Ford and the sixth quickest overall recording a top speed of 169.795 miles per hour. After Tuesday afternoon was cut short due to rain, the team returned to the track on Wednesday with the objective of running the truck at full speed for as many laps possible. Crew Chief John Monsam describes, "The goal of this test was to run the truck wide open comfortably. We have a great group of guys working with us this year and with their hard work along with the driver, we accomplished that." The race truck was scored as the third fastest Ford and thirteenth overall with a top speed of 169.290 miles per hour. In the end, the team was very happy with the test. "This test exceeded my expectations." Jon said. "With all of the rule changes that NASCAR implemented this year, I figured it would take a while for us to adapt. Surprisingly, we ended up fairly close to where we unloaded."

Owner Eddie Wood spent this time at the shop in North Carolina working on the Sprint Cup car, but was very pleased with the results of the test. Wood says, "I couldn't attend this test because I was getting ready for Daytona, but I am very pleased with the data and how we will be able to utilize it in upcoming race situations."

The team returned to North Carolina late Wednesday night satisfied and confident with the information they gained from this test.

The 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season kicks off on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Daytona Beach International Speedway with Jon Wood driving the Wood Brothers #21 F-150 Ford Truck.

Wood Brothers Racing and the Wood family would like to thank the Air Force, its fans and supporters. We are looking forward to a successful 2008 season!
