Furniture Row Racing enters its third year of competitive NASCAR Sprint Cup racing this season, and the team is positioning itself to have its best opening season yet.

Striving to reach its top potential, the team will be powering their Chevy Impala’s with Hendrick Motorsports engines. Team Manager Joe Garone comments, “Having a world class driver in Joe Nemechek, and in our mind the best power in the garage with Hendrick engines, allows us to put the driver and engine program behind us. Crew chief Jay Guy and his staff can now focus on the vehicle dynamics and aero package of the new COT’s.”

Furniture Row Racing will be running the #78 Chevy Impala this season with sponsorship from both Furniture Row and Denver Mattress. The Team will continue to seek associate sponsorship for the #78 and primary sponsorship for the #87 Chevy Impala which will be making its debut at the 50th anniversary of the Daytona 500. Additional races for the #87 will only be scheduled when sponsorship is secured.

The #87 Chevy Impala will be piloted by former Furniture Row driver Kenny Wallace. “I'm honored that Furniture Row Racing has asked me to attempt to qualify the #87 Denver Mattress Chevy in the 50th Anniversary of the Daytona 500. It’s a team effort, with Joe and I hopefully both qualifying. It’s also a chance… which is better than no chance at all to race.”

Ed Nathman will be the crew chief for the #87 Denver Mattress Chevy Impala. “I'm very pleased to have such an opportunity to be the crew chief for Kenny Wallace as he drives the #87 Denver Mattress Chevy Impala for Furniture Row Racing.”

Furniture Row Racing looks forward to having Kenny as Joe Nemechek’s teammate. As this sport evolves into more and more multi-car teams, single car teams are becoming a thing of the past. To be able to continue their two car effort, Furniture Row is eagerly seeking sponsorship for the #87 car. For more information on sponsorship opportunities you can go to www.furniturerowracing.com.

Joe Nemechek is also excited about the addition to the team, “It’s so tough being a single car team,” Nemechek says. “Kenny Wallace is great in the draft and it helps to improve our chances of getting into the 50th running of the Daytona 500.” Jay Guy, crew chief for the #78 was quoted as saying, “I'm excited to see the growth of our team. We’re glad to have Kenny with us at Daytona I feel that a two-car effort will help us achieve our goals.”

The expectations for the Daytona 500 and this season are quite simple: qualify for the races, race competitively, and have competitive pit stops every time the car stops for fuel and tires. If this is achieved throughout the season, then locking into the top 35 should take care of itself.
