With the launch of the Nationwide NASCAR Series at Daytona approaching in just weeks, the organizers of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by DODGE announce that tickets for the event, to be held next August 1-2 at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, are going on sale Monday. Boasting a roster of more than 40 drivers, including many returnees armed with track knowledge, and its enthusiastic public, NASCAR's second visit to Montreal promises once more to be a spectacular and action-packed event.

"Last year, NASCAR was amazed by the incredible welcome extended to the series by the Montreal fans. Following its first edition, all of us - officials, drivers, organizers and spectators - are eager for a return to the city. It was a successful event that we hope will help establish a tradition of success; one that we have every reason to believe in," explained Executive Vice-President of Stock-Car Montréal, François Dumontier. "NASCAR and the members of our team are already excited to be back at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve this August. We are certain that race fans share our enthusiasm and we are delighted to be able to offer them another spectacular weekend of racing."

Once again, the highlight of the weekend will undoubtedly be Saturday afternoon's 200-mile NASCAR race, where forty-three drivers - no strangers to tight, wheel-to-wheel racing, will tackle the famous Canadian track in their powerful stock cars. "Last year the crowd was treated to numerous lead changes, bumping and spinning and of course, the unpredictable nature of re-starts, highlighted by the sprint to Senna Corner on the final laps which produced a thrilling end to a wildly entertaining race. With many drivers back for more of the same this year, race fans can expect an increase in action when NASCAR returns on the second of August," Mr. Dumontier further enthused.

In August 2007, Kevin Harvick triumphed over home-town hero Patrick Carpentier to win the inaugural NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by DODGE. Both drivers should likely return in 2008, along with many other established NASCAR stars. The roar of Daytona Prototype sports cars will again greet race fans attending prior to the main event with the Rolex Grand-Am Series Presented by Crown Royal Cask 16 the feature race on Friday August 1.

As of Monday, fans may purchase grandstand and general admission tickets for the 2008 edition of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by DODGE by calling (514) 397-0007. Lines are open every day of the week between 8am and 10pm. Tickets may also be ordered online at www.circuitgillesvilleneuve.ca.
