Assurant Solutions Acquires Automotive Consultant Rolim Consult in Brazil

ATLANTA and SAO PAULO, Brazil, Jan. 18, 2008 -- Assurant Solutions, a leading global provider and administrator of specialty insurance products, announced today that an affiliate has acquired Rolim Consult Ltda., a leading automotive distribution consultant in Brazil.

Assurant Solutions said the acquisition represented a significant step forward in its recent launch of a vehicle service contract business in Brazil. Privately held Rolim Consult has more than eight years experience in the Brazilian automotive market as a provider of consulting, marketing support and training services to auto dealers, trade associations and others involved in automotive distribution.

Assurant Solutions is part of Assurant , a premier provider of specialized insurance products and related services in North America and selected international markets. The company said it would finance the transaction through existing cash resources. The transaction is not expected to be material to Assurant's financial position or results of operations.

Rolim Consult's remaining staff, including all its skilled consultants, also will join Assurant Solutions, as employees.

Rolim Consult will continue to operate under the Rolim Consult name for the foreseeable future as a sub-branded affiliate of Assurant Solutions.
