RACING VENUES (HAMPTON, GA.) - Atlanta Motor Speedway Expands “Scout Day at the Races” Program

Following in a long established Speedway Motorsports Incorporated tradition, Atlanta Motor Speedway has broadened its Scout Day at the Races program beginning with the Sat. March 8 Nicorette 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

All members of the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the USA, in their scouting uniforms, will be admitted free of charge in the turn four Family Grandstand. In addition, one adult leader or parent will receive complimentary admission with each four scouts in uniform. Additional adults with the scout groups will be admitted for $15 and non-scout children 12 years of age and younger will be admitted for $10.

The family grandstand offers a fantastic view of the on-track action from the family-friendly, smoke and alcohol free frontstretch Petty Grandstand.

“Our chairman Bruton Smith began this tradition in the 1970’s at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte,” said AMS president and general manager Ed Clark. “Many of our fans in attendance today first visited a NASCAR event as a scout and we see of them bringing their own children to the races. We are happy to offer this opportunity for a fun and exciting scout outing to all scouts within our market area.”

A semi-annual program, Scout Day at the Races will be held Saturdays of each NASCAR Sprint Cup race weekend. 2008 Scout Day at the Races events will be held March 8 and Oct. 25.
