The list of Greatest Moments in the American Le Mans Series has been narrowed down to 10 with fans now having the chance to select their favorite.
After four rounds of voting, sports car racing fans around the globe have chosen the 10 Greatest Moments in the history of the American Le Mans Series. From an original list of 75 choices plus write-ins, the final 10 include representation from all four classes and six years of Series competition.
These 10 moments will be celebrated throughout the season during Series broadcasts on ABC, NBC Sports and SPEED. The voting isn't finished however. The final phase begins today with voters having a chance to pick their three "podium" finishers as the Series seeks its single-greatest moment.
The voting is part of the Series' celebration of its 10th season of world-class sports car racing. Throughout the season, Series fans also will have the opportunity to choose the Drivers of the Decade, hottest cars, fiercest rivalries, fantastic finishes, best races, top teams and many others.
Preparations for the 2008 American Le Mans Series, its 10th season of world-class sports car racing, begin January 28-30 with the annual Winter Test at Sebring International Raceway.
The 2008 season opens with the 56th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida on Saturday, March 15. The race will start at 10 a.m. ET and will be broadcast live by SPEED, which will begin its coverage at 9:30 a.m. American Le Mans Radio and IMSA's Live Timing & Scoring will be available at americanlemans.com.
