TEAM REPORTS (WELCOME, NC.) - Camping World, RCR Renew Partnership
Camping World Inc., America’s largest direct marketer and specialty retailer of recreational vehicles and outdoor camping accessories and services and Richard Childress Racing (RCR) have agreed to a one-year contract extension. The extension will showcase Camping World as the primary sponsor of Clint Bowyer’s No. 2 Chevrolet in 10 races as the Emporia, Kan., native pursues the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship.
Camping World will also be a major associate sponsor on RCR’s No. 2 machine for the remaining 25 races and be featured on the car’s lower front quarter-panels.
"Clint Bowyer has proven to be a valuable spokesman for Camping World and our participating vendors and suppliers,” said Camping World President and CEO Marcus Lemonis. “We are pleased to, once again, align ourselves with one of the top drivers in NASCAR. As well, our association with Richard Childress and his organization has facilitated the creation of some important new business relationships and we are excited about the prospects for even more opportunities for additional partnerships in 2008.”
Camping World offers over 8,000 quality products geared towards the RVing community, through
65 nationwide SuperCenters, a well-established catalog call center and an award-winning Web site. Camping World is the industry leader in RV accessories and services. In addition to RVs, Camping World provides its customers with high-quality products and services to help enhance their life on the road.
“We’re excited to have Camping World back on board for 2008 as Clint Bowyer goes after the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship”, said Richard Childress, president and CEO of RCR. “Camping World has aggressively marketed its brand in the NASCAR arena and we’re very pleased to continue promoting one of the most recognizable names in the recreational vehicle category.”
In 109 career starts, Bowyer has five NASCAR Nationwide Series wins, including a victory behind the wheel of the Camping World Chevy last April at Phoenix International Raceway. In addition to his five checkered flags, Bowyer boasts 41 top-five and 65 top-10 finishes in NASCAR’s junior division. The 28-year-old driver finished third in the Chase for NASCAR Cup Series championship last season and is regarded as one of the sport’s brightest young talents.
”I can’t think of a better fit for me than to be associated with Camping World,” explained Bowyer, the 2005 Nationwide Series championship runner-up. “I grew up racing motor cycles and spent every weekend in a motor home. It’s a fun sponsor for not only me, but for my family as well. My motor home is my home at the racetrack and my mom and dad travel to the races in theirs. It’s exciting to represent products and services that have played such a big role in my family’s lives.”
