In his session titled, "Can Tier 1 Suppliers Keep Pace with Consumers?" Poliak and Rich Chutorash of Johnson Controls, a leading global supplier of automotive interiors, will discuss how Tier 1s must adapt their business models to accelerate the integration of consumer electronics into the vehicle. They will examine the growing roles of software within automotive OEMs and of software integration expertise at Tier 1s, as well as the increasing sophistication of user interfaces (UIs) and how suppliers can achieve true integration with consumer devices.
Poliak has spearheaded QNX Software Systems' automotive market penetration strategies for the past six years and manages the telematics industry's most successful technology ecosystem. He helps drive telematics adoption through involvement in key consortia, such as the SH-Navi consortium in Japan. He also developed and leads the QNX OEM Innovation Labs (OIL) Program, which gives automotive OEM research and design teams early access to leading-edge technologies to help jumpstart new and innovative designs and concepts.
