Touring 2 and E Production Races Air on SPEED This Week

TOPEKA, Kan. (Jan. 7, 2008) - Programming from the 2007 SCCA National
Championship Runoffs continues Wednesday, Jan. 9, on SPEED, with the
Touring 2 and E Production races.

At noon (EST), three-time Showroom Stock B Champion Don Knowles leads an
all-Pontiac Solstice GXP front-row to the green flag in T2. Despite
blowing a turbo in the morning warm-up, Knowles shows no weakness in his
No. 35 Phoenix Performance/Iracing.com/Hoosier Pontiac Solstice, beating
the No. 79 theracingcoach.com Pontiac Solstice of Edward Zabinski to
Turn One. Having just switched from a Lotus Elise to the Solstice on the
second day of qualifying, will Zabinski be able to match the skill of
Knowles who won SSB last year? Tune into SPEED to find out.

Next at 1:00 p.m., defending E Production Champion Lawrence Loshak looks
tough to beat starting on pole in the No. 02 Enginetrans.com Honda
Prelude, but Tom Thrash, the 2006 EP polesitter, is up to the task.
Driving the No. 67 Mazda/Goodyear/Lucas Racing Mazda RX7, Thrash grabs
the lead at the start with Loshak in hot pursuit. When Thrash's car
begins to show signs of oversteer, Loshak makes his move. Only SPEED can
show you if Loshak's pass will earn him his second-consecutive E
Production National Championship, or if Thrash can hang on for his
first.

If you miss them the first time, the T2 and EP races will re-air,
Thursday, Jan. 10, at 3 and 4 a.m. (EST)., respectively. If you'd rather
watch the 2007 Runoffs anytime in the comfort of your own home, visit

DVD set.
