(December 17, 2007) - Wisconsin NASCAR superstar Matt Kenseth is racing at The Milwaukee Mile in a super late model on Sunday, August 24th, to defend his victory in the "Wisconsin All-Star 100 with Matt Kenseth" race, during the historic speedway's Governor's Cup weekend. Last August, the Cambridge, Wis. native started eighth and proceeded to race to his first Milwaukee Mile checkered flag in a 50-lap super late model race promoted by RK Race Promotions, in conjunction with The Mile. Kenseth bested an all-star field of 36 drivers from Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. Kenseth has raced in numerous NASCAR Busch Series and super late model events at America's Legendary Oval, with a best finish of second in 2001, before moving on to capture stock car racing's top prize, the 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup championship. The popular NASCAR driver finished an impressive 4th in the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series standings, and has finished within the top-10 each year in the premier series' points dating back to 2002. A challenge facing Kenseth when he returns to his roots is the fact the race has doubled in length to 100 miles, with what is expected to be a stellar field of upwards of fifty super late model racers from throughout the Midwest.
