SPECIAL EVENT (BIRMINGHAM, UK.) - SYMONDS, BARETZKY, FISHEL, BRABHAM & OTHER TOP MOTORSPORT NAMES TO STAR IN 2nd EUROPEAN CLEANER RACING CONFERENCE
OTHER TOP MOTORSPORT NAMES TO STAR IN
Renault F1's engineering guru Pat Symonds, Audi engine legend Ulrich Baretzky, former Head of GM Motorsport Herb Fishel, and top international racer and committed environmentalist David Brabham are among the many top motorsport names due to present at the Motorsport Industry Association's (MIA's) 2nd European Cleaner Racing Conference at Autosport International, NEC, on 9 January 2008.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFIT
Not only will the technicalities of Energy Efficient Motorsport be under the microscope, but also the rapidly increasing commercial benefits and opportunities for profit. Honda's F1 Earth car, many of the USA's senior championships being run on ethanol, SEAT's diesel-powered WTCC contender (the like of which may well appear in the BTCC next year), the allowance of KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems) in F1 from 2009, etc - Energy Efficient Motorsport is now big news, and becoming more fashionable (and therefore marketable) and relevant by the minute.
The conference will serve as a preface to the 2008 Autosport International Show, being held at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday 9 January. It will run from 09.30-16.30, during which time some ten expert speakers will take to the floor. Others already signed up include: :: Alan Gow - Chairman of the MSA and Director of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), who recently announced the innovation of CO2 emission controls for his championship in 2009. :: Richard Karlstetter - Global Technology Manager, Racing Fuels for Shell Racing Solutions. :: Peter Digby - Managing Director of Xtrac, which has created a partnership with Torotrak to deliver KERS to motorsport. :: Paul Drayson - the first person to win a British GT race in a bio-ethanol powered car, an Aston Martin DBRS9.
The event, hosted by Autosport International and supported by Xtrac, Torotrak and Shell Racing Solutions, will be moderated by the MIA's CEO Chris Aylett and will bring together motorsport's leaders and key influencers. Tickets are strictly limited and priced at £250+VAT for non-MIA members and £150+VAT for members. Further details are available from Clare Stone at clare.stone@the-mia.com or on 02476 692600.
