FAAS GRABS 40-LAP IRWINDALE FOCUS FEATURE;

SKOGLUND REPEATS AS USAC CALIFORNIA PAVEMENT CHAMPION

            Nic Faas of Yorba Linda, Calif. led the final 25 laps of Thursday night's 40-lap USAC Ford Focus feature at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway in his Faas Racing Beast to beat Justin Hommel, Caitlin Shaw, Tom Dyer and Daniel Adler to the checkered flag.

            Faas, who won this year's California Dirt Ford Focus championship, was also Thursday's fastest qualifier.

            Tim Skoglund emerged as the 2007 California Pavement Ford Focus champ, along with his car owner Western Speed Racing. Skoglund also won the 2006 title. Mike Maier led the first 15 laps of the race, which was part of this year's "Turkey Night Grand Prix" activities.
