Lou Gigliotti hopes to have one of his GT2 Corvette C6s ready for the American Le Mans Series Winter Test on January 28-30. The race literally is on for Lou Gigliotti as he prepares for his first foray into the American Le Mans Series. The build process for the first of his Corvette C6 entries for GT2 is well under way with hopes having it ready for the annual Winter Test at Sebring on January 28-30.

Riley Technologies is building the car at its Mooresville, N.C., shop for LG Motorsports, which plans to have two Corvettes on the grid for 2008. Gigliotti, who will be one of the team's drivers, said this week that he hopes chassis fabrication and construction of other key pieces will be finished by the end of the month.

From that point it's a race to get everything ready for the Winter Test, which falls about 45 days before the 56th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. Gigliotti said he nearly has his full-season lineup complete but has one seat that he hopes to fill

"We'll get top-flight personnel," he added. "Riley will be at Sebring at St. Petersburg to help with strategy and setup. That'll help us tremendously as we try to get dialed in."

Preparations for the 2008 American Le Mans Series, its 10th season of world-class sports car racing, begin January 28-30 with the annual Winter Test at Sebring International Raceway. The 2008 season opens with the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida on Saturday, March 15.
