Bliss Ford 300 Review
#22 Mike Bliss Ford 300 Review
HOMESTEAD, Fla. (November 17, 2007) - Mike Bliss ran the Supercuts Dodge for a successful 200 laps on Saturday evening, topping off the season with a twenty-third place finish in the Ford 300 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.
After the drop of the green flag, the blinding sunshine in turn one didnąt keep Bliss from quickly working his way up from his 31st place starting position.
Bliss battled with a very loose car for the majority of the race, which made it difficult for him to maintain his position once he had made it up to the top-five.
Paul Wolfe and the crew made some successfully adjustments throughout the
night, which helped the handling and speed. Multiple track bar and air pressure adjustments gave Bliss the power he needed to maneuver the Supercuts Dodge through
traffic and gain track position.
There was a battle just outside the top-twenty on the white flag lap. Bliss had made it through the race with no wrecks and the Supercuts Dodge was just a hair away from clinching the twenty-first spot they needed to remain a top-ten team. They took the checkered flag in the twenty-third position, and finished eleventh in owner points. Mike Bliss would finish out his limited season twenty-first in the driver standings.
"We all went out there and raced as hard as we could.
All the drivers and teams were shooting for something,
so nobody was giving any free passes," Bliss stated.
"Even though I wish we could have finished higher, and
won a race this season, I know that it will make us
even more motivated for next year. Supercuts has been
great to us, and we still hope to give them the win
they deserve in the future."
Fitz Motorsports continues the development of their
plans for next season, and looks forward to a
successful year.
