Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. who became the youngest driver in USAC history to win a Sprint car feature last June at Tracy, Calif., has emerged as the champion of the 2007 USAC Carolina Ford Focus Midget Car Series presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

The inability to secure a suitable reschedule date for the October 27 rained-out race at Jacksonville, N.C. leaves Tanner with a final margin of 30 points over runner-up Michael Sboro of Watertown, N.Y.

Tanner, who won last year's All-American Driver Challenge, piloted Tracy Trotter's All American Driver Challenge/Calico Coatings Beast to feature victories at Shenandoah, Va., Elkin, N.C., Rougemont, N.C. and Hickory, N.C. and also finished third in the USAC Ford Focus National Championship race at Anderson, Ind. in October behind winner James Robertson and runner-up Alison MacLeod.

Tanner is the brother of Kody Swanson, who ranks fifth in the Lucas Oil USAC Western Sprint points as a result of four feature victories this year.
