Needy Women and Children in Oakland County Get Big Boost for Free Health Care With Donation of Two-Year Lease for Chrysler 300C

Donation by Chrysler Jeep Superstores Will Help Foundation Break Record for Dollars Raised at This Year's Gala
BIRMINGHAM, Mich., Nov. 13 -- Needy women and children in Oakland County have been given a big boost in receiving free health care services such as mammogram screenings and regular pediatrician check-ups with the generous donation of a two-year lease for a Chrysler 300C to the POH Riley Foundation from Chrysler Jeep Superstores.
The Riley Foundation is unveiling the raffle for the two-year lease at its 5th Annual Black-Tie Gala, held this year at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17th at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, and will announce the winner Jan. 31st at the POH Regional Medical Center in Pontiac. Chrysler Jeep Superstores is a presenting sponsor of the Black-Tie Gala.
The POH Riley Foundation helps provide free health care services through the POH Regional Medical Center to women and children who otherwise would not be able to afford them. The Riley Foundation's Black-Tie Gala raised about $140,000 last year and more than $500,000 during the past four years.
"We're very excited about the Chrysler Jeep Superstores donation of a two- year lease," said Teresa Rodges, director of marketing for the Riley Foundation and the POH Regional Medical Center. "The Black-Tie Gala is our cornerstone fundraising event for the year. We really think that the chance to be behind the wheel of a Chrysler 300C will be a strong motivator for people to attend this year's gala, and to give a little more than they might have initially planned to the Foundation. We're confident we can easily top last year's total amount raised," she said.
"We're thrilled to be a part of such an important event," said Jim Schebil, president of the Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association, a group of 39 independently owned Chrysler Jeep Superstores in Southeast Michigan from Monroe to Fowlerville and from Clinton Township to Port Huron. "No child should go without the basic health care services that many of us take for granted. That this donation helps women and children in our backyard is even more important to us, particularly during these difficult economic times.
"All of our member stores have a strong history of hometown community involvement. This campaign is a natural extension of that in the metro region," Schebil said.
Detroit sports legends including former Detroit Lion and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Lem Barney; former Detroit Piston and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Dave Bing; and former Detroit Tiger and Baseball Hall of Famer Willie Horton are scheduled to attend the Foundation Gala. Paula Tutman, WDIV Local 4 News will act as Mistress of Ceremonies.
Chrysler Jeep Superstores will have the luxurious 2008 Chrysler 300C vehicle on display at The Townsend Hotel during the Gala, and in POH Regional Medical Center lobby until Jan. 31st.
The Townsend Hotel is located at 100 Townsend Street in Birmingham. The POH Regional Medical Center is located at 50 North Perry Street in Pontiac.
