Sense Technologies’ ScopeOut® Set for Southwest Dealership Launch
CHANDLER, Ariz.--Sense Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: SNSG) is now being pre-sold into automobile dealerships in the states of California, Arizona and Nevada. Those dealers that are purchasing ScopeOut® are primarily interested in preloading vehicles for sale. ScopeOut®, www.sensetech.com, is an aerodynamic system of mirrors that protects drivers when reversing out of parking areas or changing lanes in traffic.
To date, ScopeOut® is finalizing sales at auto dealerships in the Las Vegas and Phoenix area that include Honda, Chevrolet, Infinity, Nissan, Volvo, Toyota, Saturn, Cadillac, Mitsubishi, Dodge, Ford and Mazda. According to Lowell Martinson, Sense Technologies vice president of Operations, “With the recently redesigned models arriving in our warehouse next week, we will commence preloading with the dealerships immediately.” With more than 28,000 auto dealerships nationwide, the company is optimistic about the market opportunity that new car sales represent.
Sense Technologies anticipates having thousands of units placed on new vehicles prior to the end of the first quarter 2008, signaling a purchasing trend that illustrates consumers are placing a high premium on safety and rear visibility in vehicles. Says Sense Technologies CEO Bruce Schreiner, “Safety is especially a concern for families and owners of large vehicles who know how little they can see behind them. People know that vehicle blind zones exist and they want to protect their children as well as minimize their own liability by avoiding potentially lethal accident situations. We believe the reason ScopeOut has been so well-received by dealerships is because of its functionality and OEM appearance.”
Before even putting a car in gear, ScopeOut® allows drivers to vividly see hazardous situations in their rear view mirror that might otherwise be hidden from view. The technology offers drivers an expanded field of vision – sometimes 100 yards in both directions – to help them better navigate reversing or changing lanes in highly trafficked, congested or perilous fast-moving areas. Affordably priced, ScopeOut® works in conjunction with other safety systems, such as cameras or sensors, or functions effectively as a stand-alone device.
According to statistics collected by the Kids and Cars Organization, some 150 children are backed over and killed by reversing vehicles each year. Thousands more are injured and treated in hospital emergency rooms. Most of these victims are toddlers, and in 70 percent of the cases, a parent or close family member is the one behind the wheel. Martinson adds, “Drivers cannot avoid hitting what they cannot see, and inadequate rear visibility in newer vehicles is a topic of national concern being addressed by numerous safety coalitions, auto manufacturers and even Congress. As family vehicles have grown larger, so have their blind zones and this creates visibility issues for those drivers, as well as for other drivers sharing common roadways and parking areas who can’t see around them.”
Sense Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: SNSG), www.sensetech.com, develops and markets backing awareness products for safety that have been created to help drivers avoid tragic accidents resulting from vehicle blind zones while reversing and changing lanes in traffic. The company currently sells two patented technologies – Guardian Alert®, a Doppler awareness-based rear sensing device, and ScopeOut®, an aerodynamic system of safety mirrors that gives drivers better control over blind spots when reversing or changing lanes in dangerous, highly trafficked areas.
