More Lake-Effect Snow Through Wednesday Morning
Up to Six Inches of Snow in PA and Upstate NY
State College, Pa. -- November 6, 2007 -- AccuWeather.com reports that the cold front that produced lake-effect snow on Monday across the upper Great Lakes moved into Quebec overnight. Some areas of Wisconsin on Monday received over 2.5 inches of snow, with more forecast today. The western half of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is forecast to receive another 3 to 6 inches by Wednesday morning.
According to AccuWeather.com, the heaviest snow overnight will fall away from the shores of the lower lakes in areas of western and central Pennsylvania and upstate New York.
Up to 6 inches of snow is forecast for western Pennsylvania and upstate New York, with some areas receiving as much as 10 inches. Motorists in the snow belt areas should be alert for the first winter driving conditions of the season. Conditions could worsen tonight as snow showers spread through the Appalachians. Ground temperatures are well above freezing; however, black ice could form in some higher elevations as temperatures overnight drop to near or below.
