OTTAWA, Nov. 5 -- QNX Software Systems, the global leader in operating systems and middleware for the in-car telematics and infotainment market, today announced that it has launched the QNX Automotive Summit 2007, a series of one day events held in Tokyo, Japan; Detroit, Michigan; and Munich, Germany. Each summit will provide automotive designers with a forum to come together to see the technologies that will drive the next generation of in-car computing.
This international event series serves as a global user conference for QNX customers, allowing them to experience the full QNX automotive ecosystem, one of the best and broadest in the industry, to participate in technical discussions about embedded software design challenges and breakthroughs and to share valuable insight with peers. Attendees will include representatives from top Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers, and leading technology partners targeting the in-car computing and telematics market.
The events will feature a cross section of speakers and technical sessions, highlighted by Dan Dodge, CTO and CEO of QNX Software Systems, with a session titled, "Building a Future-Ready, Media-Savvy Design." Dodge will outline the technologies needed to build scalable, future-ready, media-enabled systems for the mobile devices, storage media and networks of tomorrow. Dodge's session will show how QNX technologies solve next-generation challenges, culminating with a demo of the company's latest HMI tools.
"Innovation in the automotive industry, especially in the areas of telematics and infotainment, is moving at an exponential rate," said Dodge. "These summits offer project managers, software and hardware designers with the opportunity to take a deep dive into the industry's top technological advancements. Attendees can expect to hear about the latest in multi-core processing and secure partitioning, see some of the newest tools on the market and walk away with the information necessary to lead the industry into the future."
