Audi A5, R8 To Be Imported To China Early Next Year

SHANGHAI - November 3, 2007:

Audi A5 and R8 will be imported to Chinese market in the first quarter next year, said An Shihao, General Manager of FAW-Volkswagen Audi Sales Department.

He said that the Audi A5 and R8 will be priced at 300,000 yuan ($40,187) to 850,000 yuan ($113,863) respectively.

Equipped with the high-revving 3.2L six-cylinder engine which features FSI petrol direct injection technology, together with quattro permanent four-wheel drive, the A5 can accelerate to 62 mph in 8.4 seconds.

Audi R8 sports car will be equipped with V10 engine similar to Lamborghini Gallardo, and it accelerates to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds.

It is also reported Audi R8 is the only model that dominates the 24 Heures du Mans 2007. Although Panoz, Chrysler, and MG would all briefly attempt to take on Audi, none could match the R8's performance.
