SGI Announces the Launch of SceneExchange
New Internet community answers the industry's critical needs while restoring vehicle owners at the center of the collision repair process
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 1 -- Scene Genesis, a leading provider of advanced integrated workflow and communications solutions to the automotive insurance claims and collision repair industries, today announced the launch of SceneExchange. This ground-breaking, web-based marketplace allows for a customer-focused experience during the damage repair process. SceneExchange will be showcased at the upcoming International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE).
A new paradigm for repair
SceneExchange is an online community that brings vehicle owners with a need for collision repair together with collision repair shops that have the capacity to perform repairs in an insurer-backed, web-based service solution. Insurers submit claims to Scene Exchange and one of SceneExchange's 1,000+ independent appraisers nationwide is immediately placed on the job. The appraiser submits a damage appraisal, along with digital photographs of the damage into SceneExchange. Once received, the system alerts collision shops in the area that a new job is available, and invites the shops to place a cycle time bid for the number of calendar days in which the shop can complete the repair. These bids are then presented back to the consumer, along with information on the shop's training, warranty policy, and feedback from other vehicle owners in the SceneExchange community that have used the shop in the past. The vehicle owner selects a shop to perform the repairs, and leaves feedback for the SceneExchange community on his or her experience with the shop, to aid the next vehicle owners in their selection.
Success on all sides
SceneExchange has been in limited release in Charlotte, North Carolina. The benefits of SceneExchange demonstrated during this time have been positive. "SceneExchange is very easy for my claims staff to use; there has been no need to change our normal workflow," said Keith Chance, CPCU, Regional Claims Manager for Southern General Insurance in North Carolina.
The collision shop experience has been dramatic as well. "SceneExchange has brought pride back to our business," said Mark Tantillo, of Folger's Autobody in Charlotte. "Jobs aren't flowing to our shop because they were directed to us. The vehicle owner chose us because of the quality of our work, rated by other owners. Our customer satisfaction rating is higher on SceneExchange jobs because the owner is better educated on and more involved in the repair process."
SceneExchange is free to register and free to bid for collision repair shops. Signup online at www.sceneexchange.com.
