DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 31, 2007 -- To culminate a year-long celebration marking its tenth anniversary in Dearborn, the Automotive Hall of Fame is offering half-price admission through the end of the year. Beginning November 1, and continuing until December 31, 2007, full price admission will be just three dollars for every visitor. (Regular prices are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for students. Children under the age of five continue to be admitted for free.)

"After ten years of being located in Dearborn, there are some people, many of them metro Detroiters, who have still not visited the Automotive Hall of Fame," explains Hall of Fame president Jeffrey Leestma, "and we want to share this milestone with as many people as possible. For whatever reason, if you have not visited the Automotive Hall of Fame to see the pioneers and leaders of the auto industry, there has never been a better time."

The Automotive Hall of Fame was founded in New York City in 1939, and subsequently moved to Washington, D.C., to Virginia, and to Midland, Michigan. After 25 years in Midland, on the campus of Northwood University, the Automotive Hall of Fame opened its doors in Dearborn in 1997, to be closer to the auto industry, and to attract a broader audience. This year, the Hall of Fame welcomed its quarter-millionth visitor.

"I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that we are just plaques on a wall," continues Leestma. "In reality, we tell the rich heritage of this amazing industry through displays, interactive exhibits, automobiles, and a wide array of original artifacts, by focusing on the accomplishments of our great automotive heroes."

Just last month, five heroes representing automotive racing, design, manufacturing, and management were inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame. The Inductee class of 2007 included A.J. Foyt, Dan Gurney, Charles B. King, Sergio Pininfarina, and Shoichiro Toyoda.

The Automotive Hall of Fame is located on Oakwood Blvd., next door to the Henry Ford Museum. It is open daily, 9:00am to 5:00pm. For more information, call 1-888-29-VISIT.
