TEAM REPORTS (LAS VEGAS) - KB Racing LLC: Line starts No. 2 at Las Vegas
Jason Line, drove his KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac, to the No. 2 position, as qualifying ended for the seventh annual ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals.
Line finished just two-thousandths of a second behind No. 1 qualifier Dave Connolly. Line recorded a best elapsed time of 6.727 seconds, while Connolly covered the quarter-mile track at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 6.725 seconds.
“We’re pleased with out outing; It was the best this Summit Racing Pontiac has run in a while,” said Line following qualifying. “We had hoped that Greg (Anderson, teammate) and I would be on the opposite, but we’re not. Even so, we’ll try to make the best we can out of it. We’ll due what we can to help Greg in the Countdown to 1.”
A native of Wright, Minn., Line now lives in the Charlotte, N.C area. He is in search of his 14th career win. In 2007, he has one win (at Houston over Allen Johnson) in four final rounds. He was runner-up at Phoenix, Chicago, and Sonoma.
At The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Line is still looking for his first win. He has finished runner-up twice, both at the fall edition of the two events that are held annually in Las Vegas. In 2006, he was runner-up to Richie Stevens, and in 2004 to teammate Greg Anderson.
ELIMINATIONS: Final eliminations for the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals begin for all teams at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28. Elimination time is local Las Vegas time (PT) and subject to change.
TELEVISION: Qualifying highlights for the Seventh annual NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals can be seen on ESPN2 / ESPN2 HD late Saturday night (Oct. 27) beginning at 10 p.m. and concluding at 12 midnight. ESPN2 / ESPN2 HD will also air same-day coverage of eliminations on Sunday (Oct. 28) from 7-10 p.m. The elimination show repeats early Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, from 2:30-4:30 a.m. Also, be sure to tune into NHRA Race Day, the show which provides the drag racing fan with the latest information about the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
