Tim Sauter Returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway
Tim Sauter Returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway
Battered and Bruised from Martinsville wreck, Green Light team
charges ahead
When the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited the Atlanta Motor
Speedway in March, Tim Sauter stood a disappointing 26th in the point
standings. Tim brought the Lester Buildings #07 home in 21st despite
suffering from flu-like symptoms throughout the evening’s event it
was the team’s best finish of the young season. Since that time there
have been highs and lows for the Green Light team.
The team has steadily improved over the summer bringing competitive
racetrucks to most of the events and Sauter now stands 16th in
driver’s point standings. Perhaps the most heartbreaking race this
season was last week’s late race wreck that ruined a sure top-10
finish and destroyed the team’s most competitive truck.
Despite the setback, Sauter says the team is upbeat and ready for
Atlanta. “The guys are disappointed, but they have seen a lot this
year. They know that when we run as good as we did at Martinsville
that we are doing good things and if we keep doing those things it
will lead to more good runs,” Sauter explained. “I have to say this
is the most resilient team I have every worked with and they just
keep on working hard.”
The Green Light team scored a top-ten finish with Chad McCumbee in
#08 last fall at Atlanta. For Sauter, a good run this weekend could
turn the team’s fortunes for the seasons stretch run. “We know that
we’ve had good enough trucks at a lot of the races this year, but we
seem to have the worst racing luck in the whole garage,” said Sauter.
“Sometimes all it takes is one good run and you get on a roll.
Success breeds success they say.”
Larry Lembrich, Vice President of Sales for Lester Buildings is
looking to finish the last four races on a positive note, “I’m 100%
behind this team,” stated Lembrich. “Sure, there have been some
disappointments, but through it all Bobby, Gene and the Green Light
team have done a nice job representing Lester Buildings this year.
There is still time to get a couple of good finishes and get Tim into
the top-15 in points.”

Tim Sauter’s thoughts on the Atlanta Motor Speedway: “Atlanta is just
plain fast. We were a little loose here in the spring, so we’re going
to bring a different package. Hopefully we can get a better handling
truck, and give this team and Lester Buildings a better result than
last week.”
36 trucks are pre-entered for the Easycare Vehicle Service Contracts
200, which will be televised live on Speed TV at 1:00 pm eastern on
October 27th and also broadcast on MRN radio. Mike Bliss is the
defending race winner.
