Nexiant® Selected by Saft America for MRO Management Solution
IRVINE, Calif.--Nexiant, a leading provider of MRO inventory management solutions for the industrial market, today announced that Saft America, a world specialist in the design and manufacture of high-tech batteries for industrial applications, has implemented its Smart Inventory Manager (SIM), Nexiant Secure and Nexiant Select point-of-use (POU) dispensing technologies to improve MRO management at its manufacturing plant in Valdosta, Georgia.
Saft wanted more control of consumption costs for safety supplies and general MRO maintenance items, including high cost hand tools. They had a need for improved accountability and to ensure availability of the right items at the right time by automating the check in/check out process.

Nexiant Smart Inventory Solutions combine software and hardware to provide enterprise-wide MRO management and reporting capabilities, improve control and access of MRO materials, increase productivity, and reduce administrative and inventory costs. Saft has installed multiple Nexiant Secure and Nexiant Select cabinets which are supported by the company’s flagship Smart Inventory Manager (SIM).
The Nexiant Secure and Select dispensing cabinets enforce corporate access control policies at the point-of-use (POU), and include carousel and locker modules to provide flexible configuration options for single items and zone-controlled dispensing. The SIM will provide Saft with ongoing validation of documented savings through use of intelligence reports. Data includes inventory performance, spend per cost center, spend per employee, number of transactions, take and return activity and other operational reports.
The Nexiant system will enable Saft to control disbursement of MRO materials; reduce product shrinkage; lower holding costs on inventory due to reduced stock levels; reduce MRO spend due to better inventory management; obtain detailed reporting to help monitor product use; reduce required storage space within manufacturing operation; and automate the management of inventory.
