SEVENTH ANNUAL NHRA ACDELCO LAS VEGAS NATIONALS
THE STRIP AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
OCTOBER 25-28, 2007
Line will try to be a spoiler at next two races *
LAS VEGAS (October 23, 2007) -- Jason Line, driver of one of the two KB
Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiacs, has but
one job to do over the next two races and that is to run interference
for his KB Racing teammate Greg Anderson.
Line, from Mooresville, N.C, will try to be at the top of his driving
game as he tries to dispatch as many drivers to their trailers as he can.
"The more drivers that Greg (Anderson) doesn't have to worry about the
better," said Line. "If that's a spoiler, then it is what it is. A
better scenario would be if I could get lined up opposite (Dave)
Connolly, Jeggie (Coughlin), or AJ (Allen Johnson) and take anyone of
them out, then I might be a spoiler.
"The bottom line is that our entire KB Racing team would like to see
Greg win the championship. We want to add another POWERade trophy to
the last four that we have won. Consecutive I might add.
"Now don't go calling me cocky or the like. The three other drivers are
here because they're good and it going to take everything we've got to
come out on top from both Greg and me. We've got to do the best job we
can and do the things that got us to this position in the first place.
Then all we can do is hope for the best."
When qualifying begins Friday, Line will begin his quest for his 14th
career win. In 2007, he has one win (at Houston over Allen Johnson) in
four final rounds. He was runner-up at Phoenix, Chicago, and Sonoma.
At The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Line is still looking for his
first win. He has finished runner-up twice, both at the fall edition of
the two events that are held annually in Las Vegas. In 2006, he was
runner-up to Richie Stevens. While, in 2004, he saw his teammate Greg
Anderson cross the finish line first.
