Beward Makes Memorable Run to Win the 4th Annual Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic at SSP on Sunday Afternoon: Hollenbach and Goodwin also Victorious

Newberrytown, PA (October 21, 2007) - The 4th Annual Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic presented by Cumberland Truck Equipment of Carlisle on Sunday afternoon at the Susquehanna Speedway Park found Gary Beward besting the strong field of 54 Street Stocks to pick up the $3,000 check in victory lane. After the race, Beward was unable to collect the $25,000 bonus as his luck finally ran out by not picking the two correct envelopes to win the bonus money. Ed Hollenbach won the 50-lap Four Cylinder Stock Car race and Michael Goodwin won the Xtreme Stock Car 50-lapper after Mark Krone failed post race technical inspection. Racing events were postponed on Friday night, moving the 2-day action to Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

The 50-lap Street Stock feature began with Todd Snook jumping out to the early lead from his pole starting position. Tim Krape and Bill Henney pursued Snook's rear bumper over the next 8 laps until a caution for Todd Bowersox was displayed. On the restart, Snook continued a steady pace to lead until another caution came out for a spinning Joey Hoffer in turn 2. Tim Krape took the lead from Snook on the next restart and led until Gary Beward moved onto his rear bumper on the 36th lap and the two ran side-by-side for the next two circuits. Beward came from the last starting position after spinning on the initial restart before taking the lead on lap 38. Beward went on to win by a straightaway over Krape, Paul Morgan, Dustin Hollinger and Snook. Joe Whiteley

The 15-lap B-Main went to 2007 SSP Track Champion Paul Morgan and Terry Naugle won the 12 lap C-Main event.

In Four Cylinder feature event, Ed Hollenbach jumped out to the early lead over Grant Adams and Ronnie Garlock. A very close battle for the lead ensued and Hollenbach lead until Adams moved past him on lap 19. Grant Adams relinquished the lead to Hollenbach on the same lap after retiring from the race with mechanical problems after taking the lead briefly. Midway through the race Hollenbach held a very slim lead over Leroy Long and Ralph Morgan, Jr. Morgan made his way all the way through the C-Main, B-Main and the rear of the A-Main to challenge for the top two spots on the 26th lap until a spinning Frank Grubic brought out the caution. On the restart, Morgan could not advance any further until the 34th circuit when he moved into second past Ronnie Buck and then got past Hollenbach on the next lap. Morgan held the lead until he dropped out on lap 42 with steering problems. Hollenbach regained the lead and took the win over Ronnie Buck, Eric Hollenbach, Leroy Long and Brian Wentzel. Tim Buckwalter, Jason Geesaman, Kyle Weiser, Dave Edwards and Troy Hostetter.

The 12-lap B-Main went to Dave Leidy, Jr.

In Xtreme Stock Car feature event presented by Superior Homes, Erbs Custom Performance and The Madison House Recovery Homes, Don Murphy jumped out to the early lead from his fifth place starting position over Michael Goodwin and Mark Krone. Murphy set the pace as Donnie Broderick moved into the second spot behind him on lap 7. Broderick stalked Murphy in and out of lapped traffic. With three to go, Broderick made contact with Murphy and both cars we forced to retire to the pits when the caution was shown. Murphy was able to make repairs and Broderick could not. This gave the lead Mark Krone. A caution with one lap to go set up a one lap shootout between Krone and Goodwin with Krone taking the victory over Goodwin, Brady Cauffman, Ricky Bender and Jeremy Becker. Krone and Cauffman both failed post race technical inspection, thus giving Goodwin the official victory followed by Bender and Becker. Bill Powell moved to fourth and Tommy Slanker was credited with fifth. Don Murphy, Chris Heller, Travis Horan, Ray Broderick and Adam Smith rounded out the top ten.

The 12-lap B-Main went to Adam Smith and Jason Zook won the 10 lap C-Main event.

Saturday night racing action found a torrid battle in the York Haven Auto Sales Mini Van action with Daryl Sipe edging Butch Richcreek Jr. at the line to take the win in the 15-lap feature event. The two battled side-by-side for much of the event in which many observers feel was the best Mini Van feature they've ever seen. Jeff Svendsen came home third with Sherry Kitner and early leader Robert Fryberger rounding out the top five.

The qualifying Street Stock heat race winners presented by Dellingner's Auto Body of Mechanicsburg included Gary Beward, Joey Hoffer, Tim Krape, Bill Henney and Todd Snook.

The qualifying Four Cylinder Stock Car heat race winners presented by Williams Grove Graingers Flea Market included Leroy Long, John Stoll Jr., Ronnie Buck and Grant Adams.
