Office Depot Foundation and Carl Edwards Suit up for Fundraiser

DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--The Office Depot Foundation, the independent foundation serving as the primary charitable giving arm of Office Depot , announced today that Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series, will help support City of Hope by wearing a specially-designed firesuit and helmet in the Subway 500 race at Martinsville Speedway on October 21, 2007. Following the race, this unique firesuit and helmet will be auctioned online with all proceeds going to City of Hope National Medical Center.

I think its great that Office Depot is giving me that chance to take part in this special auction, said Carl Edwards. As a NASCAR driver who is in front of millions of fans each week, it is so rewarding to use this opportunity to help raise funds for such an incredible cause. I hope all of my fans get involved.

The one-of-a-kind firesuit and helmet feature the City of Hope and Office Depot Foundation logos. Following the race, Edwards will sign the firesuit and helmet and fans will be able to place their bids online, between October 19 and October 29, by visiting www.carledwards.com or www.officedepotracing.com .

The proceeds from the auction will be benefiting one of the most advanced biomedical research and treatment facilities in the world. City of Hope is dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
